From my past college experience you cannot actually die from the condition but if someone who doesnt have the condition under control by having a doctor they are working with or medication, then the person may not be mentally stable enough to handle the effects, in which case people who have died in the past with a history of schizophrenia, usually passed due to suicide. I studied this in school and I know someone who could answer the question in greater detail if need be. . Schizophrenia is not a cause of death. The illness is devastating to patients and families who care for those afflicted. The number one cause of premature death in persons with schizophrenia is by suicide at a rate of between 10 and 15 percent (depending on the study). The average life span is 25 years less than those without the illness.

Sometimes rarely a person with paranoid schizophrenia in a state of delusion may act out and inadvertently die e.g. voices tell them that they can jump from a building and not be harmed. This is rare but happens, as well as an inability to care or from delusion put themselves in harmful situations, e.g. falling asleep in a field in the winter. There are may social, economic consequences of the illness (homelessness) and other circumstances that put them at the highest risk for suicide and attempted suicides. Though negatively stigmatized people with schizophrenia are rarely a danger to others but are at a high risk to injure or harm themselves. The short answer is yes you can die from it.

no, you can't die but if you, like said above, can;t control it, you might think someone is chasing you and jump of a building, run into a road, or something like that. so yeah , you could. it depends on your situation

Yes. I am a paranoid schizophrenic. I was homicidal just before being admitted into a psychiatric ward. I am placid by nature and once medicated I quickly subsided into post psychotic depression due to feelings of guilt and shock.

No. Last year, I had a psychosis that I was depressed and was hallucinating. I was medicated soon after. Now, you can die from any choices you make while under the influence of psychosis, for example choosing to commit suicide and such. Yet if you just experience it and you are in the area where someone can watch you, then you would not die. I hope this helps!
