Yes. You could collect if you were fired or laid off.

Another answer:There ARE other reasons you can collect UI, besides being fired or laid off, but yes, you can collect if the state finds there was not sufficient justification for your employer firing you.

it would depend on the reason you were fired but if they decide you are not entitled to job seekers then you can apply for hardship fund

Merely being disabled does not qualify you for unemployment benefits. You have to be ready, willing, and ABLE to accept a full time work immediately, and if you were disabled, it would depend on the extent of your disability. If the disability were job related (injury, etc.) then you probably qualify for workers compensation.

There is more at issue than the termination of your disability. Your state has qualifications for it's benefits, including the timing of your base year, monetary issues, reasons for loss of job, etc.

Legally, yes, but it may be a factor in whether you're approved for Social Security Disability (SSDI).While the Social Security Administration doesn't prohibit people on (SSDI) disability from receiving unemployment checks, state unemployment regulations usually require all unemployment recipients to be willing and able to accept full-time work. This creates a conflict, because you're generally not eligible for Social Security disability benefits if you're capable of full-time work. For more information, see Related Questions, below.
