Yes. The Tame Silver Fox is a breed of fox that descended from red foxes bred to be tame during an experiment. A group of people (I cannot remember the exact details) took some red foxes and kept them on a farm type facility, to see if they could be domesticated. They divided them into two groups, one that would have as little contact with humans as possible whilst still being monitored (to keep them wild), and another group that would have as much contact with humans as possible. Not only did they find that they could be domesticated, but they found that along with domestication their coat colour, for some reason, changed. They became silver, and some even became white with silver patches. They can now be bred and owned as pets.

Yes, a fox can be domesticated. Scientists have proved that you can domesticate a fox. The result of 60 years of experiments in Russia, they successfully domesticated the silver fox. Which is a silver morph of a red fox. Not only has the fox been more tamer, it is also more dog-like as well. It will droop its ears like a dog and way tail when happy. It has also made more dog like barks.

I'm sorry but you can not keep a fox you caught in the wild. It is illegal. There are some people who breed foxes who you can buy a pet fox from, however.

If the animal is obtained quite young it can be tamed. However, it will still maintain its wild characteristics so will never be fully domesticated.
