Possibly. There are several reasons why uniforms help in general:
1. Savings for cash-limited families - school uniforms are far less expensive than designer clothes, often more durable, and can be sold on or swapped when they are too small for the student.
2. Putting on the school uniform can result in a greater professionalisation in the stude up to go to work. Schools report that when students in uniform take a more serious approach to their studies.
3. Schools report that arguments over fashion and clothes, and hence bullying, are reduced by the use of uniforms. Children may pick on those without trendy clothes, whether that's because they can't afford branded clothes, or simply because they have no fashion sense.
4. Arising from the previous paragraph, avoiding distractions such as fashion and visually revealing clothes reduces distractions from learning, both at home and in school.
5. Wearing a school uniform increases school coherence and pride and generates a feeling of belonging.
As for learning effects, there are studies that show a very small correlation between the use of uniforms and academic results. The main problem in any study is that uniform codes are more commonly enforced in better schools where there is parental involvement and higher expectation from the students - distinguishing the effects of the uniform from other effects in the school environment is very difficult.
its been proven that when kids where more comfortable cloths while testing, the focus on the test not how they're uncomfortable. therefore, they do better.
It has been proven that the presence of school uniforms in schools can reduce the frequency of bullying. This does not fully eradicate the problem from our schools however it is an excellent method of showing the students that they are an academic community, that together they are "one", and as such they aught to treat each other with respect.
Poor kids do not have a lot of structure and have mental stresses such as a poor family life. Uniforms give a sense of pride and subconsciously indicate what you are to do for the day when wearing it. Also, it has been proven that uniforms increase productivity in comparison to street clothing.
There has been long controversy between whether school uniforms make schools safer or not. I however think that schools should not have school uniforms because it could take away a students pride in their clothing style.
yep
its not really been proven but to my opinion its no
School uniforms have been is use for hundreds of years. They show the different levels of classes, give a professional appearance, and teach the students a form of decorum.
You have to wear uniforms in school because it shows you are a part of the school and shows you are serious about education. Easy to answer! you have to wear uniforms at school because it's just the school's policy...it's been that way for...years! Often done to equalize the students...uniforms help ensure no rivalry in fashion.
My school has uniforms, and there have not been any problems here as long as I have been here. (uniform usually means great education!!) I cannot, though, speak for other schools and their policies.
of course he is but it has not been proven.
Most likely not, because if it was, it would have been outlawed a while ago.
No, it has been proven to be rather in-effective.
