to be honest, with good training, any dog can do something in the police force .
Disagree. A pit bull is classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act. It would have to be muzzled and therefore restricts any ability to detain a fleeing suspect. It has no special qualities re scent operations.
No police force would use pit bulls out of choice and I know of none that do.
Similarly no forces would use poodles, Yorkshire terriers, great danes, old English sheepdogs etc.
Engage brain before answering please.
Typical dogs are German Shepherds for control and spaniels for scent work. Others are used but they must have similar qualities to above to ensure successful results and public safety.
No offense to your dog but if you mean an attack police dog then no because of their short and chubby legs they cannot run fast. For a tracking dog then you have a chance as long as your dog is a puppy because it will take a lot of training. If you are really determined then you can try to train your dog if he is full grown. Check with your local police station.
Police carefully pick Dog Breeds for use as working dogs. Dogs that are required to be aggressive are typically (but not always) german shepard dogs. The reason for this is that they have a tendency to express aggression which can be encouraged through training. Other breeds also express aggression as a normal part of behaviour, but german shepards are also chosen because they are physically intimidating. They are quite large, and so can bring down a human adult if needed. The breed is also associated by most people with the police, so it is clear that they are working dogs.
Bulldogs are not typically used by the police because they are smaller, are less intimidating, and on average, display normal levels of aggression.
In other areas, the police also use other breeds as sniffer dogs. I have seen (in Lincolnshire Police Dog Unit) spaniels and jack russels used. The breed in this area is not so important, as they just need to be receptive to training (interested in food, or toys as reward).
Yes, a Pit Bull would more than likely make an excellent police Dog. However, authorities prefer to use German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois breeds because they are generally easier to train and are legal in all states (including the UK). The most decorated and famous war dog in history was a Pit Bull Terrier who won several awards for bravery and helped to save countless lives.
they dont use pitbulls anymore they use german shepards
No. They are typically bred for hog hunting.
Pitbulls are domesticated dogs. There habitat is their owners homes.
Mounted police dogs are used privately in their investigations.
Mostly rottweilers and dobermans but bulldogs , pitbulls and bull terriers are being used
pitbulls
Pitbulls, like any dog, could be good or mean although, pitbulls most of the times are docile dogs that would rather be mean towards other animal but well trained, these dogs obey the master.

Cats are not a normal part of a dogs diet, but people who fight dogs (which are usually pitbulls) will use cats as bait to train the dogs to be mean.
All dogs vomit
All dogs do.
They are not considered herding dogs but I am sure that if you wanted you could train one to be. Pitbulls are good at pretty much anything they are trained to.
Most of the time people use pitbulls bulldogs or rotweillers in dog fighting but i do not advise this because it is illegal and very inhuman to treat an animal like that
