Yes. But hardly anyone does. Some people have a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting and if they don't receive medical attention they could die but it is a very unusual occurrence.

A bit more:

If you are allergic to them, your first sting will produce a severe reaction, but if you get stung a second time (even years later) that sting will be far more likely to kill you than the first sting.

If you are allergic, you can take allergy shots, which will diminish the allergic reaction if you were to be stung again. There are also self-injecting needles (Epi-pens) that those who are allergic can keep with them at all times in case of a bee sting to help prevent anaphylaxis (allergic shock) and death.

But you don't have to be allergic for the stings to be fatal if you are stung by a lot of bees at one time. Many people have died from being stung by a swarm of bees.

There's not enough venom in one bee sting to kill most adults. It would take several hundred or even thousands of stings to do that.

However, if the victim is hypersensitive to the venom then a single sting could cause a severe reaction, anaphylaxis which, if not very treated quickly, can kill.

How many honey bee stings would it take to kill a human?

The sting of an Africanized honey bee (proper name for what Hollywood and the sensationalist media call the 'killer bee') is no worse than the sting of any other variety of bee. Most people will just have a short period of pain from the sting, but there is a very small minority of people who are hypersensitive to bee venom, and for these people one sting can be dangerous -- even life-threatening. And the variety of bee makes no difference.

What happens when a honey bee bites?

Honey bee jaws are designed for gathering food and are too weak to hurt a human - so nothing would happen if a honey bee were to try and bite a human. To protect themselves honey bees have a 'sting'.

What type of bee doesnt die after stinging you?

Honey bee workers are the only ones that have barbed stings. If they are unable to withdraw the sting after stinging they will leave it behind. This causes severe internal injuries and the bee will die from those injuries. All other bees have smooth stings and have no difficulty withdrawing them. An additional point is that it is only the females that sting, not the males. The sting is a modified ovipositor (egg laying tube), an organ that males do not have.

Do bees die after stinging?

As a honeybee pulls away from its stinger, parts of its digestive tracts, muscles, and nerves separate traumatically from its abdomen.Only honey bee's do.Only honeybees die when they sting. This is because of the shape of their stinger. Other bees such as bumble bees can sting multiple times. If you are stung by a honey bee, the bee will die. If you are stung by a wasp, it lives on to sting another day.
