You have to learn how to deal with stress if you're going to be a mature adult. Stress isn't always bad - it helps you to finish your tasks and meet deadlines and do your best work on a project.

Here are some ways to deal with stress:

  • organize yourself so you're not always waiting until the last possible minute to do a project (or homework) - the later it is, the more stress you put on yourself
  • take deep breaths - you can't panic while you're breathing deeply (scientific fact)
  • take small steps - do a little bit at a time instead of looking at how much you still have to do - slow and steady wins the race

Depends upon the person. Some people become very stressed out because of homework (I am one of those people!) and others it rarely affects. Most people do feel some form of stress before a big exam though. Yes, homework does create stress because as well as our daily homework, we students have other activities such as sports, music related things,etc..

It depends, if you haven't finished it can probably be %50.00 percent out of %100.00 percent. (If you really care about your grades.)

If you have, and it was a lot of work, then probably %20.00 percent. But that can be easily decreased to %0.00 if you reward yourself.

Stress can stop you from doing anything -- if you let yourself get too stressed, your mind is overwhelmed and you feel so helpless that you can't do anything. Sometimes if you don't know how to handle it, it may cause you to "burn out".

Here are some good tips for Stressed Students:

  • Breathe! It is physically impossible to panic while you are taking deep breaths. Try it and see -- you have to really be doing the deep breaths!
  • Do a little bit. If you have a big chore ahead of you, chop it up into little ones. Do just one class assignment, then take a break and go walk around, or go talk to your parents about how stressed you are - don't take such a long break that you end up staying up all night working, though!
  • Reward yourself. Set up something with your parents -- if you do a certain amount of study work, they'll let you do a certain amount of something you like to do, or will help you put some money aside to buy an item you want once you get your grades for the term.
  • Drop the standards! This is the big one for lots of students -- you do not have to do 100% all the time. The definition of a "C" grade is average, or normal -- this is the grade most kids will get, and it's fine if you're doing your best effort. A "B" is above average, and an "A" is perfect. If you're getting B's and C's, you are doing above average work, which is fine.

Anything can increase stress! Part of growing up is learning to deal with stress like deadlines and chores.

Homework can be stressful because it is a external stressor it causes you to have short term stress with no lasting affect but it is there and you have a pressure to get it done and if not there can be consequenses from teachers, parents; guardians etc.

Stress is not necessarily a bad thing, either. It helps you have pressure to finish the job and not slack off, and it helps you remember to do your work on time.

It's homework because obviously you will always have a deadline for it and you can't miss THAT deadline because you will get in big trouble. But chores aren't that bad when you think about it.

Remember, whenever you have homework and chores, get your homework done first and THEN do your chores!

Another Answer

Whether homework or chores cause more stress depends on the personality of the person who has both of those things to do. Some people find their homework easy to do at times. Then those people will not be stressed as much by homework as by chores.

One reason is because they leave it to the last night and then do everything. There are also nights when they have a lot of homework. though that would not be every night.
