None. Antibiotics are poisons for killing bacteria, they do not work on a virus, which is the causative organism in cold sores (Herpes Simplex Virus). There are anti-viral medications that can be prescribed to help lessen the cold sore symptoms and duration, however, which are: valcyclovir, acyclovir, and famcyclovir

You shouldn't use antibiotics for cold sores, they won't do any thing for it. You should use creams like Abreva or antiviral medication. Cold sores are caused by a virus, not bacteria which is what antibiotics treat.

No, since antibiotics are for treating bacterial infections and cold sores are caused by viruses. There are antiviral medications that treat cold sores: acyclovir, valcyclovir, and famcyclovir, however, they usually must be started as soon as symptoms develop to be most effective.

Antibiotics do not cure cold sores because cold sores are caused by a virus. The Herpes virus causes cold sores, and there is no cure for viral infections. You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antiviral medications to help make you feel better and reduce the length of time that you have the infection, but there's no actual cure.

Can amoxicillin help a fever blister?

No, cold sores are caused by a virus (Herpes Simplex) and since amoxicillin is an antibiotic, it would have no affect on the virus. Antibiotics only work to kill bacteria, they are not effective against viral infections. There are anti-viral medicines that can be prescribed for and do help relieve cold sores. Ask your doctor if your cold sore could be treated with an anti-viral.
