Can an Akita kill a German shepherd?

Simple answer, yes. If it were stronger, bigger, and/or faster than the German Shepherd and got a good bite into the jugular, it could win in a fight.

The Akita easily They are heavier and stronger with larger heads and jaws. A larger head=more biting power.

The German Shepherd is a fantastic dog, but the Akita goes far beyond a German shepherd and for a companion and guard dog I would have to go with the Akita, it is capable of killing to protect its owner & family dependent of situation. They're highly intelligent and make the best protector for a family.

Before World War 2 in Japan when bear hunting was legal they used to hunt bears and most of the time kill the bears if you don't believe me listen to this quote Michio Ebisu says "I was walking in the forest and my Akita was with me when suddenly I was attacked by a bear my Akita jumped at the bear and used all it's weight to tackle the bear to the ground it then it bit the bears neck holding it in a lock and the bear was dead in no time."

Well its a hard choice.

German shepherds are rated as the third smartest dog according to the test designed by Stanley Coren. But many Boxer owners and handlers attribute very high intelligence to Boxers, simply because of their experience with Boxers and are very critical of Stanley Coren's method of finding Dog IQ; Boxers are headstrong, so their willingness to submit to training is harder, but this in no way a sign of low intelligence. German shepherd have a bite force of around 450-750 lbs and boxer 220 pounds. German shepherds holds the advantage of weight German shepherds have thick fur, so the damage from bites would be less because of their bristly coat to help protect their skin. Both Boxers & German shepherds have been trained to open doors, untie knots turn on lights, TVs, radios, climb fences, defeat armed criminals... But it is interesting to note that the majority of police dogs are GSDs. (German shepherd dogs). Simply because German Shepherds have powerful noses.

Boxer come from the Molosser family (which include Saint Bernards, mastiffs etc) and like most Molossers they have a low, deep sounding and powerful bark. Which is really helpful when it comes to scaring of people/other animals.

Both breeds have good temperament and are very attached to their owners.

A american Akita would definitely win. I love gsds but Akita won hands down. German shepherds are strong but they were used to hunt small animals like fox, rabbits, and coyotes. American Akitas were used for guarding and to hunt big game like wild boar, coyotes, fox, smaller BEARS,and can even kill wolves. American Akita bite force is 400 psi they can weigh 130 pounds and can reach 28 inches. While a German Shepherd has a bite force of 238 psi weighs 88 pounds and can reach up to 26 inches.

American Akita's are a bit taller and generally heavier than GSD's. Japanese Akita's are smaller. According to breed standards Akita's of either gender can hit 100lbs, whereas GSD's are in the 90's.

german shepherds if you see are pretty thin and you can see their bones and akitas are really...fit so if anybody is looking for a first class gaurd dog,choose the akita inu as it also was guardian of the royal something

1. yes akitas or akita inu would be able to injure a german shepherd depending on how it is trained or how large it is but mostly german shepherd vs akita inu is no match

Ofc yes.Akitas used to be fighting dogs and they are more agressive than gsd.It wont be an easy task but with medium effort both the american and inu will crush the shepherd
