Most of the time no, a Marquise Cut diamond has a completely different length to width ratio than a round so it will not fit into a head designed for a round stone. The only way this would be possible is if the semi-mount is a two piece design, also known as a peg head. If that is the case, the head for the round could be removed and a head for the marquise put in.
It is too much of an effort, and I doubt many jewelers would be willing to do it. We offer good deals on marquise semi mounts that we custom make... Check it out at Petra Gems...
The setting basket will have to be completely changed. Marquise diamonds have long wider measurements.
Changing the mount or setting of an engagement ring from a round mount to a marquise mount can be a complex process and is generally not a straightforward task. The reason is that different diamond shapes have different structural and design requirements. Here are some factors to consider: Compatibility: The new marquise mount needs to be compatible with the existing ring structure. Marquise diamonds have different proportions and orientations than round diamonds, so the setting must be designed specifically for a marquise stone. Prong Configuration: The number and configuration of prongs for a marquise setting will likely be different from those for a round setting. Marquise diamonds typically have pointed ends that require secure prongs to hold the stone in place. Ring Structure: The overall structure and design of the ring may need to be altered to accommodate the new mount. This could involve changes to the head, shank, or other components of the ring. Jeweler's Advice: It's crucial to consult with a professional jeweler before making any changes. They can assess the feasibility of the modification and provide guidance on how to achieve the desired result. They may also advise against certain changes if they could compromise the structural integrity of the ring. Cost and Time: Modifying an existing ring can be more complex and costly than creating a new one with the desired specifications. Additionally, it may take more time to complete the modifications. Before proceeding, it's recommended to get a thorough assessment from a skilled jeweler who can examine the current ring and discuss the feasibility of the changes you have in mind. They can provide insights into the structural considerations, potential challenges, and the overall impact on the ring's aesthetics and integrity.
My question is WHY did you replace a four prong dryer plug with a three prong! 220 volt Electric dryers require two hot legs, a neutral and a system ground wire. Sounds as though you shunted one of the hots or the neutral. You need to install a four prong plug of the same configuration and wire it exactly as the original.
A prong is a clamper to clamp things.

This is a 2 prong polarized female. However a 2 prong unpolarized male will easily plug into a 2 prong polarized female. just not the other way around.
