Yes. A big enough pendulum will maintain its orientation to the universe even as the Earth is spinning beneath it. A Foucault Pendulum was the original design of this concept, and there are now several of these in museums around the world.
Yes it is.
A tachometer is a gauge that measures mechanical rotation, and typically reads out in "RPM" or revolutions per minute. Such a gauge can be used anywhere where a measurement of speed of rotation is needed, but the most common use is to measure how many times in a minute the crankshaft of your car's engine turns, which would indicate to the car's driver how hard the car's engine is working at any given moment.
They dont. Gravity cannot be controlled. In sci-fi, sometimes rotation is used to simulate gravity via centrifugal force, but this has never been done.
A fixed capacitor can be used for power-factor correction for a single-phase ac appliance such as an induction. One of these can also be used to suppy a phase-altered current to the starting winding on the motor. In electronics fixed capacitors are used in shunt for decoupling, which earths any ac voltages on a dc-carrying wire, or in series for blocking dc and passing ac signals between stages in equipment.
Millimeter wavelengths are short frequency radio waves astronomers use because they can see gases and other phenomena not visible in visible light. MM wavelengths are usually used where the air is dry so water vapor can't scatter the waves.

Use of a plumb bob a level used on plumb rather then horizontal
For measuring 'plumb' in conjunction with a spirit level.
The man came over to my house to plumb my toilet We have a long way to go to plumb the depths of the words.
A plumb-line can be made of steel, metal, gold or wood
"Plumb" refers to a "plumb-bob," a device used to make sure that a building is built straight up-and-down (not leaning). "Plumb straight" means "completely straight." In that way "plumb forgot" came to mean "completely forgot."
YES. Level is interpruted to be horizontal and plumb vertical. Now, most levels have a plumb level and can be used in the vertical position. this is stil however checking for plumb and not level. Hope this helps Terry
Days would be shorter, and there would be more days per year. (And that was the way it used to be.)
Plumb as in "Plumb a door frame or cabinet?" Plumb is having something 90 degrees to level. The floor is level and the door frame, the vertical, up and down part is plumb in relationship to that. I'm sure this term comes from using a Plumb Bob. That's a heavy pointed ball on a string.. It will always show you the plumb line. Haven't heard the term used in plumbing.
That is a very old expression used in rural areas, with "plumb" meaning "very" and "flustered" meaning "frustrated."
II Samuel 8:2 is the account that you are referring to, but the mention of a plumb-line is not in this passage. The only passage in scripture that mentions a plumb-line is in Amos 7:7-8. A plumb-line is used for vertical alignment. David used a chord , or rope as a measuring tool to separate out a third to one half of the Moabites.
