No there is no cure for NPD (narcissistic personality disorder). The person would need years of massive psychotherapy but they do not see or think of themselves as having a distorted way of thinking or having flaws.

After 10 years of ups and downs with the love of my life , i tried hard, gave it too much tried, diversified my ways with him ...the N remains a N...u either need to keep faking who u really are (and believe me it is tough) or he will end up repeating his pattern .tried words, change of behavior, thoughts , expressed my points of view,...as for literal cure, been reading too much about npds...they can never be cured otherwise nobody would say avoid , save ur life, walk away...once i read that u cannot hate a snake coz it is a snake....u cant transform a snake into other creature ...they are different species....and pity myself and pity who is reading me if they fell in love with one of them...god miss him so much , yet waive the idea that he is never mine can never br

From everything I've read on the subject, it is not likely. They have deep emotional problems that they are not able to confront and you have to recognize that you have a problem before you can begin to solve it. If you are a narcissist, and believe that you are, seek professional help and try to work on things. If you are involved with a narcissist, the most important thing you can do is make sure you are not victimized because that is what happens. Have enough respect for yourself and faith in who you are to get out of any situation that is not healthy for you. That one certainly is not.

As long as the narcissist is seeking councelling and they are WILLING to be there. They can change and make great improvements, however, they will never be normal. That is the price one pays for thinking that they are a god.

Never.Please don't waste any of your time trying to help them. They are incapable of changing what they are. Their disorders are deeply hard- wired within them. It's simply impossible to ever, ever, ever help them see they need help. Please take it from someone who's wasted years of her life hoping and praying. It can't be done.
