My boyfriend just received a ticket for an open container in a parked car. Anyway the police are taking him downtown & I'm am not really sure what is going to happen. I know he has two or three prior charges...one for drunk in public, possesion of a controlled substance, and maybe another marijuana charge. The last time he had to go to court he got like a really large amount of community service and a suspended sentence of 90 days upon completion of PTI & some drug counciling classes. I am really worried he might have to go to jail after all this trouble....any help?

∙ 15y agoIt really depends on the individual and the circumstances. Someone with no priors or police involvement who co-operates fully and regrets and takes resposibility could find the charges dismissed or simplified. If the case involved more then you can expect a tough sanction. I can only advise you discuss this with a lawyer.
