whos asking?
No, if you're a convicted felon in the state of New York, you cannot become a licensed registered nurse. However, in some circumstances you can fight for your right to become a nurse, even with a felony record. However, in order to fight it, the crime you were committed of cannot be violent.
no
No, a convicted felon can not be licensed as a nurse in Florida if they were convicted within 15 years of filing. The licensing board has the discretion of approving or denying any application.
No.
depending oon what the convict didAdded: For the official answer to this question you would have to contact whichever state agency is responsible for licensing the practice of nursing in Montana.
The following links to a page on the State of Michigan website answering one of the FAQs about getting licensed as a nurse in Michigan. Considering Governor Granholm has given speeches about the shortage of nurses, I would answer "yes". http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,1607,7-132-27417_27529_27542-136661--,00.html
That would depend on what you have been convicted of!!
It could depend on whether or not you need a state license topractice your profession. Some so-called "nursing" positions are not in fact performed by Registered Nurses and do not require access to drugs or narcotics. Based on exactly what position you are looking for, you will have to contact the state agency that licenses your profession in order to learn thid answer to this.
Your only option would be to contact the court in which you were convicted in, and try to have your conviction expunged. If or until the conviction is expunged, no medical center can legally hire you (as a nurse).
In most states that I know of, one cannot hold a nurses license after having been CONVICTED of a felony.
Rather than asking here - get the OFFICIAL answer to your question by simply contacting the Illinois State Board of Nursing Examiners and ask.
Unfortunately the answer is No... You may be able to do the prequisites but getting accepted into a nursing school will almost be impossible. You are competing with all sorts of other students who do not have a record and they will surely be chosen over you. Background checks say they only go back 7 years but it really 10. Even id you can complete an ADN getting hired will be very difficult. Sorry.
