No. You can only catch HIV virus by having unprotected sex (without a condom), or by sharing drug needles. The virus has to get into your bloodstream. So sharing food, straws, cups, toilet seats or mosquitoes is all quite safe! See Link below.

∙ 10y agoHIV/AIDS is typically spread via contact with infected bodily fluids/secretions (blood, vaginal secretions, semen, etc.). IV drug abuse with shared needles that have been used with someone infected with the HIV virus is another way to contract the HIV virus (as well as other infections such as Hepatitis C). I'm not sure if it's possible for HIV to spread in the water, I've never heard of someone getting HIV that way, so I sincerely doubt it. The best way to protect yourself is to practice safe sexual practices (i.e., condoms for every sexual act) and to not share needles.
