I did this on an older model, but am not sure it can be done on a Montana. there is no belt listed for a Montana/Transport without A/C, however if you go to an auto parts store, they will usually let you try different size belts, I seem to remember in doing this the only way i could make it work was to actually remove the A/C compressor from the vehicle otherwise the belt rubs on the pulley, My Montana has an idler located at the top, and I cannot remember if the Transport had the idler pulley there. Check with your local autoparts store, because Motormite/Help offers a replacement idler that bolts in place of your compressor and you can run the original belt but it is a limited selection. The 2003 Pontiac Montana air conditioning compressor condensation drain begins on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The drain goes from the compressor to the bottom of the engine compartment.
The one location to where the fuses for the air conditioner can be on a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. The fuses for the air conditioner will be in the fuse panel located in the engine compartment.

You can find the air conditioning drain tube for your 1997 Pontiac Firebird on the bottom of the air conditioner compressor. The drain tube will be near the back of the air conditioner compressor.
I had the same problem. It turns out that when the freon is low, the air conditioner will automatically turn off... In my case the condenser had a hole in it, from a stray rock.
There are two ports on the air conditioner compressor on a Montana. Attach the refrigerant to the lower port and recharge the system.
