A white tiger is a tiger with a recessive gene that creates the pale coloration. Another genetic characteristic makes the stripes of the tiger very pale; white tigers of this type are called snow-white or "pure white". There are only around 200 of the white tigers left in the world. White tigers are an Asian species, found from the frozen tundra of the Soviet Far East, south to the humid jungles of Malaya and Indonesia, and west to the hot, hardwood forests of India. There are five living subspecies; three others are already extinct. Current estimates put the world population of wild tigers at about 5,000-7,000, the most numerous race being the Bengal race, distributed among some 18 tiger reserves and sanctuaries of India (and a half-dozen in Nepal and Bangladesh), accounting for over two-thirds of all wild tigers.

In the wild, the strips on a "normal" tiger help to camouflage the tiger when stalking prey in the dappled light of a jungle. A white tiger, on the other hand, would stand out and be too easily seen by prey animals - so putting it at a disadvantage.
YES!!! White tigers are no different than any other tiger, it is just a genetic mutation that makes the tiger white, white Bengal tigers are not a separate tiger species.
gene
there colour is so spectacular
White tigers are so rare in the wild to make it almost entirely pointless to save a special fear for White tigers. But White tigers are still tigers, and tigers can certainly be dangerous for several species of animals. Tigers are one of the most dangerous animals on the planet so almost anything. Except other aggressive animals. tigers can even take down brown bears and crocodiles. however are often scared away by (venomous) snakes
Probably because the White Bengal Tiger is so rare. Hope I helped!
Tigers generally live alone and therefore do not form packs. Further, white tigers are only a rare color morph of typical orange and black tigers like Siberian tigers, so there would probably never be a group of white tigers in the wild.
Technically, white tigers are not a species. White tigers are just a rare color variation of tigers. Because the white color is not an adaptation, white tigers do not naturally exist in the wild except very rarely. However, humans find them beatiful, so they continue to inbreed the few white tigers that are in captivity.A better cause than trying to save the white tiger is to save tigers in the wild. One great organization for this is the World Wildlife Fund.
from what I know, the white tiger's fur comes from a genetic mutation that is very rare, hence it is very difficult to breed. White tigers have little chance of surviving in the wild, because their white fur does not camoflauge with their surroundings. This is practically the same thing as white lions, white bears(if there are such things) and so forth.
snow tigers are white so they can blend in
They have been seen throughout asia. They are seen sometimes in forests in Japan. Korea and China. also russia :] and so on. White tigers are rare. they are tigers still (just like the orange ones.) but something happened to them while in the mother tiger that made it white.
I believe so. if you type up 'snow tigers', the pictures are white tigers.
White tigers are a rare varation of the normal bengal tiger. Left to itself, it would hav the same kind of habitat as the normal bengal tigers - the Forests of India and some neighboring countries. But since us humans found the black and White tiger so striking, there are more White tigers alive today in captivity in parks and zoos than there has ever been in the wild. So today, the most probable habitat of a White tiger is a zoo or a park.
White tigers aren't a separate species, they're simply a Bengal tiger with an unusual fur color. As such, they'll happily breed with other tigers if they get the chance. In fact, being so rare, a White tiger in the wild would pretty much have to breed with a normal-colored one, if it is to have any chance of breeding. Holding out for another White - if tigers thought that way - wouldn't be an option.
Maybe by hiding, but it's no use. The white tiger is very rare, because they usually die because when they go out to hunt, their prey will see them because it doesn't blend into the grass so their prey will run away, knowing that tigers are dangerous. They are also rare because normally, a tiger is orange on the back, and white on the bottom. But what we can do to save white tigers, is keep them in captivate so they can get their food without a problem.
