Yes, though not in large numbers and probably not all the year round. The Great White Shark is resident in the Mediterranean, but there is no reliable data as to its numbers. As late as the end of the 19th Century it was relatively common off the coast of Italy, Greece and modern-day Croatia but sightings are now extremely rare. Occasionally these sharks are caught in fisherman's nets, but again instances of this are becoming fewer.
Documented attacks in Turkish waters are very few, less than a handful over the last 100 years.
As well as Great Whites, there are other smaller but potentially dangerous sharks in the Mediterranean but these live in deep water and rarely venture close to the shore.
The greatest risk of encountering sharks in the Mediterranean is in deep water close to shore i.e where the depth drops quickly or suddenly. As a general rule in the Med if you are in depth you are safe - this rule does not apply in other warm water seas where Bull Sharks are present. This species - which is absent from the Med - has been known to attack in just 18 inches of water and to inhabit river estuaries and inland fresh water lakes
The Great White is in all waters on the planet, it has been found nearly everywhere.
One type of dangerous fish found in the Mediteranian Sea, would be the Shark. Sharks are known to frequent these waters .
Yes. Smaller reef sharks inside the reef and larger sharks in deeper waters outside the lagoon. Smaller varieties not generally dangerous - I have been in the water with sharks inside and outside the reefs and never any issues. There are Tiger sharks in the deeper waters around the islands and they can be dangerous. Don't swim at dawn or dusk or near a river mouth and your risk is almost nil - about the same as a lightning strike. Don't miss the beauty of these waters over a long shot like that.
I would bet the most dangerous sharks in these waters would be the Great White and the more aggressive Tiger Shark.
Yes, the Geenland Shark, Basking Shark and Porbeagle are or have been common around Norway.
I think i have to say its the lionfish, stonefish, sea urchins, catfish, box jelly fish, sharks, and stingrays.
There have gotta be sharks in the waters of Britain.
yes
Yep. That is how sharks get to eat tuna.
Sharks don't "go" anywhere. There are some sharks in the waters around Spain.
Many parts of the world have dangerous sharks but i would say Hawaii is pretty dangerous because three sharks that will attack humans live there. spots in Africa and south America are dangerous.
