Yes, but in an interesting way. The poison of a sea urchin is locked up in its spines. It has no way of delivering the poison itself. What must happen is some (unfortunate) creature throws itself on a sea urchin and get its spines stuck into it. The spines then have to break for the poison to be released. The poison is not water soluable either (which is very queer for poison) so it doesn't travel very quickly. In treating such a wound the doctor is advised to cut away the pale white flesh around the wound as that is where the poison is.
It's not life threatening, but it will be EXTREMELY painful and may require surgery to remove.
