It's very easy to delete those files. Restart the computer. While restarting, press F8 repeatedly. Then you will get a list containing different options. From that list select Safe mode with command prompt. When you come to command prompt, go to the root of the drive which is having the extention.pif file, then give the command "dir
dir
attrib -s -h -r
del
If this will not help then boot with clean bootable CD or floppy. Then try the above commands.
