All fats are organic materials. They are long chains of carbon with mostly hydrogen atoms attached along the length. At one end is typically a hydroxyl group, which readily releases its hydrogen as an ion and acts as an acid. The other end is typically attached to a carrier molecule such as a triglyceride.

fats are generally called tiracylglycerides,they are prominant in many boichemistry courses,The main biological functions of triacylglycerides include energy storage, acting as structural components of cell membranes and participating as important signaling membranes,"fat" (triacylglycerides) can also be reacted with a base in a soaponification reaction to produce soap...though if you use lard and sodium hydroxide to make soap i wouldn't try it out in the shower,it would be a bit harsh on the skin
