Jats are Kshatriyas.
As per standards of Vedic Kshatriyas, Jats are the true Aryan belonging to Kshatriya varna. The Indo-Aryan origin of Jats has been advocated on the basis of ethnological, physical and linguistic standards by many historians like E.B.Havell, Qanungo, C.V.Vaidya, Sir Herbert Risley, Thakur Deshraj, Mangal Sen Jindal and others.
The original home of Jats is connected with the original home of Aryans, the Aryavarta, since the Jats are definitely a tribe of Aryan race. Jats have more than 2700 gotras. They are found in all four Kshatriyas types i.e. Suryavansh, Chandravansh, Nagavansh and Agnivansh.

Is rajput superior than jatts?
Firstly let us divide the Jatts into three different groups: Jatts among the Muslim Community, Jatts among the Sikh Community and Jaats from Haryana. All three anciently have linked ancestory, "Indo-Aryan, Indo-Synthian". Traditionally Jatts were the land lord community, or farmers. When Sikhism was founded by the tenth Guru Gobind Singh, due to the circumstances of the time, only the bravest of the brave converted to Sikhism. It was mostly the Hindus from Rajput community (Kshatriyas). Once Sikhism started to find foothold and a Sikh empire began to take shape, a lot of original Sikhs took control of the lands they won. This established a new group of land lords, or new Jatts who were of Rajput origins. Subsequently, many Hindu Kshatriyas of non-Rajput lineage converted to Sikhism as well and they form the Sikh Kshatriya castes. I may however mention here that according to the tenants of Sikhism, all Sikhs are equal and Sikhism is a casteless religion. However, due to social structure and pressures of Indian community the caste distinctions have made their way into Sikhism. Majority of Sikh Jatts are of Rajput origin like Chauhans, Boparais, Rais etc, however some castes like Cheema have origins from amongst Muslim Jatts. So there is no direct answer to the question asked here. Jatts of Rajput origin are same as Rajputs. However, a major difference between Sikh and Hindu caste system needs be made a note of here. In Hinduism Brahmins are the top caste followed by Kshatriyas, while Hindu Jatts are Vaishya and are hence ranked below. These three are followed in heirarchy by the Shudras. In contrast, Sikh Jatts are of Kshatriya origins (as noted above), but more importantly, since Sikh Jatts were the founding figures of Sikh Empire and hence the controllers of power and land, Sikh Jatts make the top most caste in Sikhism, that is by social standards for as noted above, Sikhism is a casteless religion. Is Phull a Jatt last name?
I think it is a Punjabi Khatri (Kshatriya) last name. I am unaware of any Jatts with that name, but a list of Khatri last names where "Phull" appears can be found at the related link below. Also, ancient Hinduism classifies Jatts as Kshatriyas, in a warrior ruling class sense (Chandravanshi), so they could be related some how. Aroras are Kshatriyas in Hinduism and in fact got converted to Sikhism as Warriors initially because fighting against oppression was the major reason of Arora conversion from Hinduism to Sikhism as compared to Jatts who converted to fight against oppression and enjoy fruits of a path that got them free from clutches of Hindu caste-ism where they were considered Shudras (still in hinduism, jatts are mostly shudras). Both Jatts and Aroras enjoy a good status in Sikhism. However, Sikhism was always supposed to be a single community - not arora, khatri, jatt, ravidasia etc..... Mostly it has been found that certain factions (especially hindu religious groups and Hindu Jatts who hate Sikh Jatts progressiveness and the close proximity of all Sikhs without any caste bias) are trying to create a divide amongst Sikhs specially Aroras. Khatris and Jatts. All those are progressive communities and need to understand - Sikh First, Jatt/Arora later. Do not fall for traps.
