∙ 8y agoNo, they are two different countries. Earlier they along with Bangladesh were one single country India. But in 1947, India was partitioned into India and Pakistan (which comprised of Bangladesh as well as today's Pakistan). Today's Pakistan, at that time was called West Pakistan and Bangladesh was called East Pakistan.
In 1971, there was a civil war for independence in East Pakistan (Bangladesh). India supported this uprising and declared war on Pakistan. This war resulted in Bangladesh becoming an independent nation too.
