Fireworks are a fairly common form of celebration in Canada. There are often fireworks at the stroke of midnight, welcoming the New Year on January 1. Fireworks are traditional on Victoria Day and Canada Day, and a little less so on the provincial holidays celebrated on the first Monday in August. Many summer fairs and fall fairs provide a fireworks display as well.

Not all fireworks are illegal in Canada. There are two types which are allowed: display and family/consumer. Other types only organization can get provided they have a permit. Refer to the link on Firework Safety which I've added.

Umm. french people do not actually have an Independence Day as they were never a colonie but French people celebrate the 14th of July which is called in french "la Fete Nationale" or in English "Bastille Day" as this day was the end of the French Revolution (14th of July 1789) when "La Bastille" was taken . on the night of the 14th of July, there are always fireworks at night :D

hope that was useful ^^
