emulsification and frothing of fluid causing pump to sound like it is rattling to death. seals on rack will fail some time later, replace rack, flush system, pump may be o.k.
Do not run the engine. You need to drain out the fluid antifreeze mixture. You can then refill the power steering fluid.
Then you won't have power steering.
What will happen if u I added power steering fluid to a leaking power steering pump
Power steering fluid helps your steering wheel turn easily. If you have dirty power steering fluid, it may be hard to turn your steering wheel while driving.
Oil, Antifreeze, Power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant...
trans fluid,power steering fluid,dex-cool antifreeze
Your power steering will fail because brake fluid is poor lubricant.
You really have to just find out where it is leaking and what it will take to repair it. GoodluckJoe
1. Your power steering won't work properly, because it requires hydraulic fluid. 2. You may cause corrosion in your power steering system.
Your power steering won't freeze.... In all seriousness, It's probably not a good thing, so don't accidentally do anything with a 2-ton weapon/vehicle
Not as bad as putting a little bit of power steering fluid in the brake reservoir, but I would have the power steering system flushed just the same. Problems wouldn't happen soon but in the long term they will.
The obvious: It will become very hard to steer. The not so obvious: The power steering pump is lubricated with power steering fluid, and driving it dry could damage the pump.
