From June 1941 onwards when the Soviet Union was attacked by Germany its allies included Britain and later the U.S. It was one of the 'Big Three' powers fighting against Germany.

AnswerIn 1933-1939 Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were bitter ideological enemies, and they helped opposite sides in Spanish Civil War.

But since August 1939 and before June 1941, Soviet Union collaborated with Germans to divide spheres of influence in Eastern Europe. But Soviet Union was never was "allied" with Germany as it commonly claimed, because officially it was neutral before June 1941. Soviet Union also never joined Axis pact although it was discussed.

There were some french and british soldiers who fought alongside the soviets in WWII, but the number of the British and french soldiers was, of course, much much less than the number of soviets. Many people would say that the Americans were allies of USSR, I say not. The Americans agreed to help the soviets whenever the Nazi Germans would attack them, but they just did not keep their promise - for instance, the Germans surrounded Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and millions of people starved and froze there because no aid was allowed to go in there. The Germans simply dropped bombs on the trucks that were coming from Moscow that were bringing aid and the ice that the trucks were moving on would break and everyone would drown. Knowing what was going on in Russia the Americans did absolutely nothing to help.

The Americans stopped the war in Asia simply by dropping two nuclear bombs in Japan - they had it the easy way. Whereas the Soviets lost approximately 26 million of soldiers (that is just the official number of faculties, might be more in reality) and defeated the nazi Germans in a real, patriotic way.

Since both the Americans and the Soviets were against the Nazis/ Fascists that makes people from around the world think that they were actually allies - having read the above information, would you still say that this statement is correct?

At the beginning of the war the USSR was allied with the Axis Forces. Once the Nazi Germans attacked the Soviet Union the leaders switch alliances with the Allied Forces. Then they went into Eastern Europe and defeated the Nazi Germans. The Western Allies defeated the Nazis from the Western Front.

to be more exact it was France, Great Britain, Serbia, United States, China, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Czechoslovakia, Ethiopia, Greece, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Union of South America, Yugoslavia, and Poland so you can see that the Soviet Union had a lot of help.
