  • they are relatively smaller, electron ones are bigger
  • they are easy to use
  • they allow you to see coloured images, electron ones don't
  • you can observe live specimen, specimen has to be dead with electron microscopes

a light( or mirror) microscope doesnt have much zoom at all, compared to the electron microscope. The electron microscope is much larger and is much more expensive. It depends on what youre trying to look at. Both are for looking at small slices of a specimen, but the light microscope needs light to pass through the specimen to see it clearly. If your trying to look at something 3D, try a stereoscope microscope.(at least i think thats what its called) Anyway, yeah, its just what you're lokking at.
