If it is oil, you have a very serious problem. The check engine light alone means you have a problem that is effecting the emissions controls and the computer is warning you of this. Take it in for repair immediately. There is a line for the transmission fluid that hooks into the bottom of the radiator. That sounds like what you are talking about. These come loose quite often and it may just need to be tightened up. You may have to remove or loosen the plastic shield on the underside of the car to gain access to that area.
ah.......radiator??
out the petcock on the back side of the radiator
Put it in the radiator but also make sure the overflow tank is full. Follow the overflow tube from the radiator and you will find the tank.
Always check and fill from the rad neck. If your car is equipped with a reservoir tank it will be attached by a hose to the neck of the rad. Follow it to find it.I hope this helps you. Mark
You want to use a 50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze, but use the manufacture recommended antifreeze, it comes straight anti freeze in which case you would mix a gallon of antifreeze to a gallon of water or you can buy a pre mixed container of antifreeze if your just trying to top off
I'm not sure about a Honda Accord, but all cars are pretty much the same. You can remove the radiator cap and add antifreeze, or you can look for the antifreeze "overflow reservoir". A piece of tubing from near the radiator cap should run to a plastic jug about the size of a gallon or two. It usually sits off to one side or the other under the hood. The side of the overflow reservoir may have a fill mark on it. The top should have a lid that is easily removed. That's probably the recommended place to add antifreeze.
Antifreeze and coolant are the same thing.
50/50 Prestone antifreeze can be used in a Honda Accord. Also Honda makes their own brand of antifreeze that can be found at Honda dealerships.
How do you replace a radiator on a 1991 Honda Accord
how do you replace the radiator on a 2003 V6 Honda Accord
with the car cold. fill radiator to just before it comes out of the top. drive car to make it hot. let it get cold again and ad antifreeze until just before it comes out of top.
A mix of 50% clean water and 50% antifreeze is recommended in most climates. Add only when engine is cold.
