You will need to have obtain a Line of Duty letter (LOD). You will be able to receive medical care for the injury listed on the LOD. The LOD starts with your commander or with a provider. It must ultimately be signed by the commander of your unit. When calling to book an appointment for care, you must state that you have a LOD and what type of injury you had. You can only get seen in a military facility for care regarding that injury. You must carry on you and present your LOD to the clinic at the time of your appt. Also, a copy needs to be placed in your medical record and a copy must be submitted to the admin office at the medical facility. Furthermore, if you have copies of documentation of this injury out of your medical record, you should take this documentation to the VA and lay claim for diability. You will be assessed the percentage of disability, and this percentage of disability determines the amount of medical care you receive for free, and the amount of money you will receive on a monthly bases. Depending on the degree of disability and dependent you have this could be $100 dollars a month to several thousands dollars a month. But know you cannot be seen at the medical facility and the VA for the same medical condition. You must choose where you want to get treatment. If you do try to get care at both places and are discovered you can loose your benefits. This is seen as frauding the government out of money. And the military and VA computers are linked. So don't think you will get away with this...someone will find out. You should have been educated on this process through your medical evaluation board process. If you did not get one certified true copy of your record before getting out of the military...go to the nearest military medical facility and go to their clinic records section and query the process on how you can obtain a copy of your medical record. In the last few years the military medical record system has gone electronic...so depending how long ago your injury...so if the injury happened in the last 4-5 years there is a good chance it is all located in a computer. All records that are cleared out of the medical treatment facilities and sent to St Louis have all documentation printed and inputted into the records.

An honorable discharge is the highest form of departure from military service. You get everything. (Did you mean dishonorable?)

Are employer financed supplemental unemployment severance benefits an offset to long term disability?

A disability insurance policy can have two main categories of benefits: base benefit and supplemental benefit. Only the supplemental disability benefit can be reduced or offset by any other benefits received (including SS disability, Workers' Comp, or any other employer benefits). The base benefit will not be offset by any other benefits received.

Can a marine get government help if he got dishonoral discharged or a wall?

It depends on what type of Governmental help you are referring to and whether the Marine has received an honorable discharge in the past, previous to his Dishonorable Discharge. If a Marine in his or her 1st enlistment receives a DD then the Marine will lose many benefits. If however the Marine served one enlistment and received an Honorable Discharge and then reenlists he will be entitled to all benefits from that first enlistment. But you still need to speak to a Veterans Affairs Representative for details.

Can you collect Workers Comp and Disability Insurance in the State of Mass?

Yes, the disability insurance payments can be paid on top of any workers comp payments received, if the policy's benefit is not integrated with any supplemental benefits. If your disability insurance policy is integrated with supplemental disability benefits, then the disability payments will be offset dollar for dollar by any mount received from workers comp or social security. That's why when you get a disability insurance policy, it is advised to include all or most of the disability benefit amount as "base benefit" which does not offset by any supplemental benefits received.

Can you get unempolyment while getting long term disability?

Disability benefits are received if you are unable to work. Unemployment is paid if you are able to work and actively searching for employment. These two definitions are contradictory, so you won't be able to legally collect disability benefits and unemployment.
