1995 Mazda 626 LX after engine warms up and ya driving and need to stop when pressing your brake pedal your idle speed idles low and sometimes it even cuts off?

My car is the exact same model and is doing the same thing. When i come to a stop it will cut off or idle really low. I was told one of three things is wrong the most expensive is replacing the idle control valve it is almost 510 bucks brand new but some salvage yards will let you get them cheaper...the second part is about 145 and its like a throttle body...the third thing which is what im tryin this weekend is to get the throttle body plate cleaned. the mechanic told me to unhook the hose and take a tooth brush and carb cleaner and brush all the carbon build up off reattach it and take it for a drive to see if that helps.
