7-27-11>>> If your 1972 coin is a uncirculated example it may be worth about $5.00 because the 1971 & 1972 issue coins were not included in the Uncirculated Mint sets sold from the Mint in those years. None of the Eisenhower dollars regardless of date or mintmark struck for general circulation have any silver and most are not worth more than face value. Only proof and uncirculated collectors coins sold from the Mint have premiums

If your 1971 Eisenhower is a uncirculated example it may be worth about $3.00 because the 1971 dollar coins were not included in the Uncirculated Mint sets sold from the Mint in 1971. If not, none of the Eisenhower dollars regardless of date or mintmark struck for general circulation have any silver and most are not worth more than face value. Only proof and uncirculated collectors coins sold from the Mint have premiums. For 1971 all "S" mintmarked coins are 40%silver.

Assuming you're referring to Eisenhower dollars. None of the coins made for general circulation contain any silver. People mistakenly call them silver dollars because of the size of the coins. Only collectors coins from 1971 to the bicentennial dual-date 1776-1976 from the U.S. Mint were struck in 40% silver and all have "S" mintmarks. These coin were not released into circulation.

The coins are only face value.

No Kennedy half dollar dated 1973 was struck in silver, all are copper-nickel coins. Unless it's a proof coin the value is 50 cents.
