Zeus/Jupiter was born the youngest son of Cronos/Saturn/Father Time sort of. All his older brothers and sisters had been eaten by Cronos because he was afraid of a prophecy coming true about his children killing him. So Cronos was faked out when Zeus was born, and swallowed a rock instead.

Zeus grew up and freed Cronos' imprisoned brothers, the Cyclops and some other giant monsters. They gave him the power of thunder & lightning, and fought for him in the war against Cronos and the Titans, a race of ultragiant supergods. (To give you a sense of scale, Atlas was a Titan, and Zeus forced him to hold up the world forever.)

Zeus won and freed all his siblings, (the epic ones that the rest of the planets are named after), married one of them (you'll see that a lot), and crowned himself ultragod.

He then went on to turn into random animals, have sex with almost everything female in the universe, and physically overpower anyone that crossed him.

He was Hercules' father and the Earth and the Sky are his grandparents.

Athena busted out from his skull when he had a headache.
